Local Government Pension Scheme

Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs)

This is just one of the ways of topping up your benefits and simply a form of investment to build up a separate pot of money, which you draw as a separate pension, and in some cases as a lump sum. Lancashire Pensions Services have to offer AVCs through an outside provider - Prudential. You could also pay into an outside arrangement, such as a personal pension, although different rules apply.

For AVCs and Additional Death Benefits please call Prudential on 0845 607 0077.

How much does it cost?

You can pay in as much as 50% of your earnings into AVCs, and get tax relief on the contributions. Please note: all contributions must come directly from your pay - you cannot make one off payments to Prudential.
