The on-line benefit calculator is designed to be used by the members of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) only.  It is not intended for use by councillor members of the scheme, whose benefits are based on career average pay.

The benefit calculator is intended for illustrative purposes only and its results do not constitute a  guarantee of the benefits that you will receive. The calculator should be used in conjunction with other available data and not as the only source if information.

If you are part-time, your scheme membership will count at its part-time length when working out your pension and your final pay is increased to what you would have received had you been whole-time.

We have made every effort to keep the information up-to-date and accurate but we cannot guarantee this. Lancashire Pensions Services will not index responsibility for any loss, damage or inconvenience caused by any error or inaccuracy on this website. If there is any conflict between the information on this website and the pension scheme regulations, the Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations will apply.

• The calculations assume that the benefits shown are payable at age 65.  Benefits payable before this age may be subject to a reduction for early payment.

• The calculation of maximum conversion benefits is based on the conversion rate of £12 lump sum for every £1 of pension given up (a ratio of 12:1).

• Although only the standard & maximum conversion benefits are displayed, you have the option to convert any amount of pension between the standard benefits payable and the maximum conversion benefits at the same 12:1 ratio.

• The calculation ignores any additional contracts you may be paying into (AVCs, added years or ARCs).

The assumptions made may not reflect what will actually happen in practice, as a result, the actual amount of pension you receive at retirement may differ significantly from the output of the calculator as it depends on many factors.
