We try our best to make it as easy as possible for you to contact us. With the help of new technology, new ways of getting in touch with the pensions service are available, and we encourage you to use those various new methods. Of course we can still be contacted in the traditional ways, and we have certain standards in responding to your enquiries:

  •   by telephone, we will try our utmost to answer your call within three rings
  •   by post, where we endeavour to provide a response to you within 15 working days
  •   by e-mail, we will provide an automated acknowledgement by return email, your enquiry will be responded to within 24 hours.

Changing your address

If you are a member of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) you can change your address in the 'Your Pension' area of the website but only if you have registered with us to access your pension record. If you are not registered or you are a retired LGPS member, retired teacher, police officer, retired police officer, firefighter or retired firefighter you must change your address by informing us in writing to the address below.  We will require the following information:

  •   Your full name
  •   Your pay / pension number(s) or...
  •   Your National Insurance number
  •   Your full new address including postcode.

Please make sure you sign your letter as this is a security check for us.

Reporting a death

If you need to report the death of a pensioner please telephone the number below with the following information:

  •   Name of the pensioner
  •   Pay / pension number or...
  •   National Insurance number
  •   Date of death
  •   Next of kin details
  •   Address to write to
  •   Contact telephone number
  •   Bank status (open or closed)
  •   Names of dependent children

Occasionally you may prefer to come and see a member of our pension staff at County Hall, in all cases please ring the helpdesk in order to make an appointment. This is important as it will ensure that someone is available to see you and that your records are to hand. The office is situated in Preston City Centre, opposite the railway station. Please use MARIO to generate a map.
